that I have been running Slim Server (as was) and MusicIP under Windows
with very few problems for over 3 years, I've made the decision to ditch
Windows altogether and use Linux and and look where that's got me ;o)

I understand your frustration. It's relatively easy to set up, but when
it doesn't work, it is nearly impossible to figure out what is going on.
It's worth it though. I use the mixer all of the time. My problem was
related to specifying the user ID for the daemon to start under.

place I could get it to be 'read' properly was in the .MusicMagic
directory, which is also where the MusicIP documentation says to put
it. I suppose I could try putting a duplicate of it in the same folder

My mmm.ini file is in the same directory that I have the
MusicMagicServer binary (/usr/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer). I didn't make
any mods to mine, so perhaps mine isn't in the correct location. It
might be worth trying to put it in the same directory as the binary.

I'm specifying an account for the service to run under in the start up
script and I've checked the .MusicMagic folder in this account's home
directory (it's where the mmm.ini file is located) and the cache file
isn't there (I've even checked the same location in my user account's
home directory as
Where the cache goes is dependent on your home directory, which depends
on what user you are logged in as. The "user" which starts the daemon
during reboot will not be the same as the user when you are starting it
when you log in. I got bit by this.
