If it still works for everyone with the new version then that's great. There were some people who installed the latest Mplayer distribution and it didn't work with alien without tweeking - this updated file is the result of that tweeking, but I wanted to be sure it did not break any other cases.

i was going to try out your mplayer tweak but I tried a variety of bbc channels before changing anything and everything seems to be working without a problem. what should I be looking for to determine if my mplayer is operating ok? -- exile -

[SlimDevices: Plugins] OSX - mplayer.sh for Alien

The latest osx versions of mplayer look to put ppc binaries in different positions and so Alien does not find it correctly. I've created a new mplayer.sh which tweeks the logic to search for mplayer, could a couple of mac users of both intel and ppc machines try it out to check that it still work
