Thanks a bunch for this post. It's exactly what I was looking for. I too
now have Shairport-sync and Squeezelite running side-by-side, both with
ALSA hardware volume control. Adding the squeezelite start and stop
scripts in /etc/init.d/shairport-sync did the trick!
