Players Count counts%3A1 ...which means you have one player connected. If you have a second machine, can you do the same test from there? If it doesn't work, then it's very likely the firewall which is blocking port 9090. If you have something like McAfee or Symantec, just make sure you open

Michael, My (headless) server is actually running Windows Home server (server 2003 based). Here the telnet was successful. I also tried from my laptop (wifi) without success and from another desktop (wired LAN) also no go. I use no software firewall other than what is part of windows resp WHS.

I rechecked the slimremote and noticed port was set at 9000 so changed that to 9090. Also rechecked Norton Firewall settings just to make sure ports were correctly assigned. Don't know which did the trick, but it works fine now so thanks once again for all of your assitance. -- Moko

Checked on slimserver setting pages that CLI is ticked it is. Do you mean something else by D_CLI that you wrote in your last reply? Looking on Slimserver settings all the plugin boxes seem to be ticked so hopefully it should be ok. The interface still does not respond to any button pushes
