Yes that rogue plugin.pm was causing the problem. Took it out and all
now fine

Have you restarted SlimServer after the installation ?
If you have and it still doesn't show up, could you restart SlimServer
and then directly afterwards goto: http://localhost:9000/log.txt
And see if you can see any errors in the log.
