Are you in the UK or outside the UK ?
If you are in the UK - does the problem go away if you disable AAC in
BBCiPlaye settings ?
The error related to BBCiPlayer inability to open network connections -
does BBCiPlayer work on your PC ?

I am in the UK and am able to run the standalone iplayer through the
web interface successfully on this machine, which is a mac mini.
Was it using the AAC or MP3 stream ? check by right clicking the
picture and then looking at 2nd line.
Where do I adjust the iplayer settings to
It was using aac. Disabling aac did the trick. Thanks a lot.
As a matter of interest, why does aac cause problems?

No idea - at a guess there is some issue with the BBC AAC servers
although it is odd that Flash/MP3 is ok but Flash/AAC fails. Other
possibility is

Would definately cause streams to fail. I don't see this. Does this
happen all the time for aac streams?? I see another entry in
