So, if I were somehow able to tweak Phil Meyer's PluginManager to make
squeezecenter rescan playlists before adding the track, I might be in
business. Anyone have an idea of how I might going about doing this? Is
there a simple command for rescaning playlists?

Unfortunately, I think the only solution is to have SC rescan playlists
after adding songs from Amarok, and before adding songs from SC.
