i.e. through the web interface.

Hi,
I couldn't have sated it better my self. I'm having exactly the same
problem.
I have tried with different JREs, but it doesn't help.
It works fine to use Softsqueeze from other Edgy Eft installations
with my server...
I'm very curious to know if you have found the problem.

I've got the same problem in gentoo. Here's the softsqueeze debug info
for audio buffer and player debugging enabled:
Code:
0[SlimTCP-1] DEBUG player - audg oldLeft=92 oldRight=92
newLeft=0.31641108 newRight=0.31641108
28 [SlimTCP-1] DEBUG player - httpRequest=G
Well I had a slightly different but related problem.
I'm running Slimserver 6.5.1 on Win XP and Softsqueeze (latest version)
and I had Softsqueeze freeze on me, too.. exactly same - doesnt react to
keypresses on the remote and display is frozen. Happened when using the
"sleep" function.. it went
I've tried with a fresh install of slimserver after removing .pref and
db files with the same result. I have no problem using a Squeezebox2.

Im not seeing any errors in the output.
I get the following in the Softsqueeze c
A little more info:

On my Slimserver-machine im running Ubuntu 6.06, kernel 2.6.15-27-386

By the way if I close Softsqueeze and start it again then the music
starts to play right away =>I don't have to select music and play again
before it starts.

Time went by and I upgraded to Ubuntu 7.04 and SoftSqueeze 3.4. I hoped
the problem would go away, but it persists. The bug report seems to go
unnoticed by anyone with a better understanding of the inner workings
of SoftSqueeze.
Any updates on this issue?

I'm transferring here with this issue from the Linux forum, where I've
been discussing it without realising till now that others were
experiencing similar problems with SoftSqueeze itself.
My experience is that pressing and holding 'Pause' on the SQ 'remote'
causes SQ to freeze. Also, the 'Sear
I found something that mitigates this problem. At least on the two linux
systems I use, Gentoo and Ubuntu 7.04. I simply changed the Audio mixer
in softsqueeze from my sound card to Java Sound Audio Engine. This made
the problem almost entirely go away.

I'm in this boat too.
I am using two sound cards and will try to figure out if using the Java
Sound Layer helps as mentioned above.
I also posted some detail in the bug tracker.

Just to close, I tried switching from the hardware settings ( e.g. ~
[NForce 0,1] )to using Java Sound Layer as suggested a few posts ago.
Softsqueeze 3.4 has been rock solid since.
