Hi list, for my purpose I did a rough integrations of Datavision http://datavision.sourceforge.net/ into pmapper, I use it for managing reports from pmapper with the image selected into and for now I reach my scope.
Datavision is a tool for reporting, more simple than jasperReport but great anyway. and easy to use; it can query by itself the db (not for geometries) and has a graphical GUI to built xml templates for several report. It cold be used instead of the fpdf to produce pdf also and it would make very easy to change the output format or have several template to switch on. Actually I did not even an integration but just getting report from pmapper using datavision, I'd like now to really integrate it because it adds a lot of potentialities for reporting output in several format, exporting attributes of selected geometries, using reporting templates that it's very easy to graphically built If someone is interested I can share my "experiments" but they are just that, and try to work together. Anyway is very easy to use it from pmapper and the point now is more the right place to introduce it. That my ideas for now: 1) use it instead of fpdf avoiding pixel calculation just for moving the reference map 2) give possibilities of other output in the print popup (XML, PDF, comma-separated, tab-separated) 3) providing the possibility to chose the template for output (es A4 or A3 can have different layout format) 4) give also the possibility to chose the fields to be exported from popup extended the reporting on the fly without change the mapfile for it Actually I share this idea now before having the final result because I'd like to know your opinion and some good suggestions luca -- luca marletta
