In this post You mentioned the need to modify the print.pdf for
customizing the pdf layout. Is it still so? I can't find it anywhere. I
have also looked into fpdf but couldn't find it.

Well, you need to modify print.pdf to fit your needs. For that you have to
understand at least a bit how FPDF is working (http://www.fpdf.org/).
