Hi, By itself, the PmWiki User oriented security system (http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/PmWiki/AuthUser) is able to handle credentials coming from external sources, and noticeably coming from .htpasswd/.htgroup files, ie. the regular credential storage files used by apache web servers. Being able to use them is a way to have synced authentications between some wiki content and other protected web locations, but nothing prevent you to use it only for wiki purposes.
You should then perhaps have a look at this recipe: http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/HtpasswdForm, which provides convenient tools to handle these files contents, both at user and administrative levels. FTR, having a look at the mailing-list archives, you'd easily see that the zap recipe has born as a derivative work from this recipe (and some others) and has been more or less rapidly abandoned by its original author who preferred to leave the community, borrowing most of PmWiki concepts and re-implement them in his own engine (so you shouldn't expect many help from him). -- Dominique _______________________________________________ pmwiki-users mailing list pmwiki-users@pmichaud.com http://www.pmichaud.com/mailman/listinfo/pmwiki-users
