Hi Michael, Could you help me solve a problem!
I have generated a HSSFWorkbook object using SAX2. however I need this object to be opened by web clients. But when I am writing this to response object out put stream, it is delivering corrupted file to web client. How can I sort this out. In 2.0, it will open but if you try to save, it crashes. Hi Michael. For such things I've often made counterchecks with OpenOffice and also see the result there. In the case where already POI crashes I just can tell you my experience: Even if POI has written warnings (e.g. unknown ptg) it was able to write files. And we never discovered a loss of information of unhandled things like e.g. macros. POI 2.0 - copies & modifies fine but upon save in Excel it crashes. POI 2.5 - just copying w/o modifying - can't open in Excel - "unable to read file" message. It seems to be the chart page - when removed everything is ok, but unfortunately I can't leave that off the spreadsheet. I've tried saving the original file (the one being copied) as different xls formats, with the same results. I think the copying of images and graphs is supported in POI.
