This adds two patches.
One fixes a crash at runtime on amd64, sparc64, and possibly other 64-bit
machines.
The other is a fix for a two year-old xterm command injection bug, CVE
2008-2383.
I took the latter from a report on the upstream bug tracker. The project
appears to be dead, so they never co

In post-install, since bin/emacs and bin/emacs-${VERSION} are hard
linked to the same file, you only need to chmod -t one of them.
Shouldn't you get rid of the REVISI

It is also fine on alpha (gcc3).
Can somebody verify that it builds with gcc2?

Thank you, Giovanni. Am waiting on upstream for an answer. There's an
open problem report from a Linux user on this as well. No response yet.

it turns out that SIGIO handling in emacs incorporates too many
workarounds, especially when running under X and at this point
it's impossible (at least for me) to grasp through the code and
find why it fails to work with xcb or X in general.
but fortunately there's a tweak (DISABLE_SIGIO) th
