Based on my port survey, I noted that two of the CPAN mirrors often lack
dist files as follows:
(KR)ftp.bora.net missing 253 of 503
(UK)ftp.demon.co.uk missing 145 of 503
Attached patch swaps them for the following:
(KR)ftp.uos.ac.kr missing 22 of 503
(UK)ftp.mirror.anlx.net missing 2 of 503
I've been slacking for the last two weeks...
Attached patch does the following:
-removes these hosts not on the mirrors page
-note all but 'it' fail to resolve
ftp.br.horde.org
ftp.it.horde.org
ftp.my.horde.org
ftp.pt.horde.org
ftp.uk.horde.org
-corrects pathing to dist files
ftp.nl.horde.org
This patch completes the removal of shellhung.org references. While
patching those I also caught a couple of other errors in the affected
ports that include:
databases/openldap
-remove bad hostname ftp.net.lut.ac.uk
-correct pathing on mirror.aarnet.edu.au
-remove www.unibase.cz for consistent
Here's my recommendations after a lot of auditing urls that use the
MASTER_SITE_SUNSITE target. Note patch includes my earlier patch to
remove three bad host names. This patch includes the following changes:

Window Maker server admin is encouraging us to retire/remove references
to mirrors and outdated directories like contrib and libs. Three of
the mirrors in network.conf.template were failing entirely.
Additionally, ftp.windowmaker.info only hosts the dist files for
x11/windowmaker and
ftp.mirror.ac.uk is missing the by-module directory. Patch replaces
them with another UK mirror that appears to be a complete mirror.
Also removes bioinformatics.weizmann.ac.il. They are listed on the CPAN
mirror page with the host name bioinfo.weizmann.ac.il. However, they've
been refusing
Corrects path to the GNU software. Affects ~114 ports or ~119 urls.
That is, everyone using MASTER_SITE_GNU.

FTP admin team. I confirmed the pathing for all other references and

Attached patch removes references to ftp.eos.hokudai.ac.jp. They are
not listed on the x.org mirrors list. Hostname does not resolve either.
The graphics/gmt and math/octave ports referenced the host directly.

not allow anonymous access. The web site appears to be a music related
site. I doubt they host the asmail dist file anymore. Patch removes
