Now boys.....Jon & Joe, everyone knows that Leo Fender only became better at crafting guitars over time, thus.....go and check out the G&L's. Actually, my main bass is a mid-80's G&L 5-string. It's particularly rugged and keeps true to tune as well. I stand behind G&L's but you will definitely pay more for one of them, than say....a Mexi std. Comparing a G&L to an American Std., the prices are neck & neck. I also play Hohners and although they are a lowend instrument manufacturer, I've never had a problem with either my fretless or my acoustic.
