Ive been trying to debug timeouts on my postfix 2.9.4 +
dovecot 2.1.8 + mysql 5.x problems lately (when I find time to
dig into it) with no luck. Ive read as many online articles
as I can but still cant find the issue. This is a new configuration
using mysql and dovecot on fedora 17.
I think I sent my post to the wrong email, so Im re-posting.
I recently installed a new linux box with an older (2.8.x) postfix config.
Everything seemed to go fine, but when I try to send mail from the linux
box using /bin/mailx I get the following in the shell:
send-mail: invalid option -- 'i'

In the last few days I noticed that email I send to my gmail
account from my postfix server never makes it to gmail.
I havent touched the config in a few weeks so nothing should
have changed from when it worked. My server relays through
my ISP. My domain DNS records are working fine and I

When I telnet localhost 25 and authenticate I get:

simple, in the end it usually is.

SMTPD crashed. I really can't understand where is a problem.
Blind guess: There are no other mechanisms installed.
If that doesn't fix it, send debug output.

After hours of digging into this, that particular message

when I setup procmail + postfix:
