Hi
For each polygon I need to find the nearest polygon. I used
ST_Distance(geometry, geometry)
I succesfully did it but I want to make sure to interpret the result
correctly
Does A distance of 0 mean that the polygons touch each other or it means
that their bounding box touch each other?
What do

Hi,
Every day I receive an Excel file containing lat long coordinates. I need
to import it to postgis.
Currently, I save the Excel file in CSV format and I use ogr2ogr to import
the contents into postgis. I would like to avoid human intervention.
I tried unsuccessfully to define an ODBC link on
I didn't use fw tools.
I have installed python 2.6 and python gdal package (see bottom of this
page)

You might need numpy as well

Hope this help,

I'm on winXP. I use postgres 8.3 and postgis 1.4.1
I copied the dll in this folder

HI,
I just installed wktraster_pg83 using this link
http://www.postgis.org/download/windows/pg83/experimental/wktraster/
I guess the next step is to use gdal2wktraster.py to load an image in
postgis.
I don't know the syntax to use so I tried this command
C:\Python\python.exe gdal2wktraster.py --
I know nothing about compiling, dll'S, etc..
So, I'm willing to try this.
But My current version of postgres is 8.3 and postgis 1.3. I guess I need
to upgrade to postgis 1.4. Should I upgrade postgres also?
Is this procedure is the best and safest way to upgrade postgis?

Hello,
We need to use a table for several purposes with different SRID.
Is it a good practice to have several geometry columns on one table or
should we create one table per SRID?
What are the pros and cons of using several geometry columns on one table?

I would like to have the opinion of users, which one really works? Could
