I'd go for the combo drive iBook myself, or, barring that, the DVD model. You may not use these features NOW... but as people on this list CERTAINLY know, you can get many years of faithful use out of a Powerbook, and at some point they may come in handy. You can't beat CD-RWs for fast backups, a
