5300 Screen Problem

I have been given a Powerbook 5300cs with a problem. The screen sometimes is fine, but mostly there are big blocks or stripes or other gargage all over the screen. None of this shows up on an external monitor. Two questions 1. Is it the screen itself or something that drives just the screen? 2.

Hi all, I just recently got a 5300. It's worked perfectly until now. I bought a 32MB RAM card and proceded to install it. After that it wouldn't boot. So I took it out and tried without the card thinking it may be bad. Still nothing. I reconnected the keyboard cables also. It's just dead. Even
