My powerbook ( a 1400) has the popular problem of cracking at the hinges.
Friends with the same books have used JB Weld, and my father, who has a pb
145 used nuts and bolds to hold his screen together after the thing fell
off. So, what I want to know is this, has anyone found a better way? Thanks
On my recently obtained 3400, the hinges are good, but
spongy. I'm thinking of milling a whole new assembly
out of billet aluminum that will have a much more
solid feel.
I have a lathe/milling machine, just have to fool with
it some more before attempting projects like that

My new 3400 is still causing me a little trouble as I
can't get online to download needed updates (namely OS
8.1) and software.
The internal modem dials up with PPP and connects

Most likely sounds like a DNS problem. In the TCP/IP cpl is there anything
in there for Name Server addresses? If not, you can try
