As for a CD drive for your PB, all I can tell you is I use a replaced cd drive out of my mac, I replaced it with a cdrw, but I need to be able to boot from cd so I hooked the old cd up to the unit via scsi cable with the hdi-30 adapter. You can find a good Apple rommed cd all over on the lem swap

I think I'm sunk I have a 3400 that won't turn on. I tried replacing the pram battery but when I press the start key nothing happens no sound no screen no nothing. pressing the reset button turns the sleep light on solid but nothing else. Pressing the reset button again turns the sleep light off

Actually it may be 4Megs that it needs...i have a boxed version around somewhere I should look it up. I know it needs less than 8megs. I'll buy that. I think it does boot up under 4. If you treated it like DOS and just opened one thing at a time, you might be okay. That's what I find
