Not patient enough to wait to get a PRAM battery which I also need, I went ahead and checked the 64MB RAM module per the list. Very loose and sitting slightly cockeyed. Not even close to being seated. I suppose the keyboard must have been keeping it barely in. Fixed that, and all my troubles

The 5300 REA officially ended 6/28/02. I know, the power board in mine is fried and I couldn't get it fixed :( These days it seems easiest to get them from either Hotline or Carracho. Have a look around, some one has been trying to stop you from getting them... Also, many 5300's are still

Thanks to all who replied! I ended up getting the PDF off Eric Burns (thanks Eric). I haven't received the PowerBook yet (ebay). I think dependant on the serial number, Apple are able to tell when it was manufactured and this will be the date from which after the 7 years will apply? I just hope
