Hi, I searched all over the place (net and real life) and
found the best price was through an e-bay auction. I
contacted the seller and everything worked out perfect (I
got the battery, instructions and the torx for less than
$20). Very friendly and helpful.

Does anyone know if Jaguar eliminates the Sleep of Death phenom for the
Lombard et al. Might make it worthwhile to upgrade just for that!

Here's a question... If I upgraded my 5300cs to 1MB of VRAM (instead
of the 512KB), would it give 16-bit color on a cs display? Would the
passive display work in that many colors?
Do the 1400cs displays work in thousands of colors or are they 8bit
(256 colors) only?
Peace,
Drew

Ok, so I was bored and did some surfing for info on 5300s. (Yeah, I'm

I was surfing sites related to the 1400 battery last night, and came
across a statement on one that even if it still works, an AC charger
goes bad over time and ruins batteries. They recommended buying a
new charger along with a new battery.
Is this just to get someone to buy more stuff?

What do I need to run wireless internet connection from a Wallstreet to a
Airport station? Can it be done? Is there another option other than Airport?
Which wireless card should be used? Which version of software?
Anywhere I can look for information?
Thanks,
Byron

Mad Dog Victoria,
Yeah, that's what I thought. But I have this nagging in the back of
my mind - I think I read somewhere (couldn't find it just now though)
that the passive matrix display on the 5300 can only do some 4000
colors... I don't think it's a problem w/ the video controller...
I used Orinco Silver, now Proxim, I think. OS 9 recognized it as an
AirPort card. Open source OS X drivers are also available.

I'm fairly certain it's not the backlight, as the screen will darken in a
short time even if the backlight is never turned on. That's not to say it
has nothing to do with the backlight circuits, but it seems more likely
to be something in the screen itself or its controller than the
backlight. On
I have a Duo 230 which chimes and acts likes it wants to boot up and
then the screen goes white. Any ideas? Thanks.
