Hello all,
I'm new to this list.
I would like to know what the most useable and/or highest OS is you would suggest for
a PB 5300cs. (I've actually run OS 9.1 on this thing from an external HD, which
surprised me tremendously.)
Figuring others have some experience with these units (it's
Hi,
I am using 8.6 in order to use my cable connection and it works fine,

I've used 7.5.5 to 8.6. 7.6.1 seems to be the best overall, but that's
subjective as hell. 8.1, 8.5, 8.5.1 use about twice as much RAM, and
there's a noticeable difference in boot times whether hot or cold.
7.6.1 seems to do best.

Hello,
I'm new to this list, so my apologies if this topic has been talked into the
ground before, but I have read in various places on the web that it is
possible to add a Flash Memory card to the PCMCIA slot of a Powerbook, set
virtual memory to use the card, and as such essentially increase
Well, I haven't heard much about the whole thing, but I read on the web
(Low End Mac I think it was) that the 3400 is already cardbus enabled, so
I would have thought that you could just add any Mac compatible cardbus card
in, and away you go, without the 'conversion'.
But I am not certain on any
