i set up my linksys box to start assigning DHCP addresses at IP 100, so i
have addresses under 100 to assign statically

I don't know about #1, but for #2, most double sided tape softens with
heat and the tape on mine is single sided and on the thick side. For # 3 I
used a piece of a 8.5 X 11 transparency to avoid the heat issue and the
material matched that used in another 3400.

You can get 16 bit on the 540c, by dropping the screen to 640 x 400
mode,
I may try that. The last time I did I used the same number that the DHCP would have
assigned and it didn't work.

I am trying to update the OS on my 5300cs from 8.0 to 8.6 and am running

There should be a dongle that attaches to the rear next to the scsi port if
the connector fits into the book then chances are it is just a monitor
connector.
But if the connector sits out and clips on with hooks at either end chances

one of the choices that¹s another way to tell as the 5300 has
no built in ethernet. so for it to be a choice the drivers
