PB 160 - appears dead

Hi Crew! I just picked up a 160 which looks like it's in great shape cosmetically, except it seems stone dead. There is no battery in it. Would that affect whether it boots or not? I doubt it. Then again, I don't even know how to turn it on, I'm guessing the button on the rear left but maybe
