The fastest Pismo upgrade I've heard of is a G3/800, but I'd go with a G4/500 over any G3, because of OS X being optimized for the Altivec instruction set of the G4. However, in my humble opinion, the G3/500 in the Pismo is pretty good, even after working with various G4 machines and even a G5
