Odd DSL on a PB 540c

I have a very odd thing going on with my trusty PB. I finally decided to try hooking it up to our DSL the other night. I have the AAUI Adapter, so I am trying a wired connection. Everything is hooked up, I see lights, should go...but nothing. After playing around for a while, I found out

That is odd. I've got my PPC'd 520c hooked into our router, and have done so directly or using a switch (multiple computers in the other room). I've occasionally had problems when I've been told that the IP number the 520c was using was in use by another computer, and I've had to do a reset of
