Another thing to think about is that some hard drives are locked by moving a
jumper on the circuit board.

Hello,
While many will not miss Internet Explorer, I don't know of a
replacement that will do as good a job for ebay auctions.
Now, when I download the web page for an item, IE
I recently acquired a PowerBook 180c. It came with a power adapter
and a battery. I plugged it in (without the battery) and pushed the
power button. The screen came on and it made the start up sound and
then it just turned off. I took it apart and tried several things
with it in pieces.
Anyone knows of a good free defragmentation program? Also for 68K
computers, as asked before.

This reminds me, too, that there's another, separate issue with the color
1xx PBs (the 165c/180c). They need a 24 watt adaptor, to start up with their
color screens. If you use an earlier adaptor, you can start up with a
charged batt in, but not just the adaptor. (I discovered this with my 165c

Hi everyone. I recently received a PowerBool 165c from a swap-list member,
who said it was in quite a bad condition after a fall at his house. (Yes, I
knew that when I bought it 8-).) It turns out to be in pretty good
condition, except for a few things, which I've mostly rectified, but this

Am I correct in assuming that the PowerBook Duo 2300c uses the same RAM
cards as the previous Duos? I don't see anything in the Apple manuals
developer notes that suggest different.
Since those RAM chips are 32-bit wide (I presume), the 2300c has no L2
