I've had the same thing, but when downgrading from 8.6 to 8.1. I would describe it as a rather sonorous tone, and it got quite loud. I'm sure Apple would frown on my remedy, but a good slam with a closed fist on the case over the hard drive solved the problem, and it hasn't repeated in months. M
