I am not sure about the 3400, since I have never been inside one, but
the difference in mounting screws for newer drives for the 1400 is a
non-issue. With the cradle and the zillion little pins, the drive is
not exactly going to fall out on you. So there is no need to drill,
glue, use bubble g

going ahead and spending the bucks for the combo drive AND additional
