3400 Ethernet Extension

I didn't realize when I installed 8.6 that the 3400 used a special extension for modem/ethernet. Now I am trying to connect my 3400 to my home network to share a cable modem, but I can't get it to see the Ethernet card. I have a feeling this is becasue I don't have the right extension loaded.
