I use a 1400cs with a Sonnet G3 card and OS 8.1. Seems to work just fine. I mostly use IE 5.1 , Eudora and MS Word 98 and rarely have a problem with a crash or freeze. When I do have a glitch, I run DiskWarrior.
The Sonnet card doesn't seem to like OS 8.6, so I'm sticking with OS 8.1. I had lots of freezes when I had 8.6 installed on it.
