What do you mean by song writing/recording?
Can she read sheet music? If so, try Hypercard.

Deluxe Music Construction set was an old program that ran on 512k Macs.

Just to state really the obvious, the 512K Mac was of course a 68K machine
itself, and included the 68000 processor, not the (much faster and newer)
68020.
