Interesting, What compact flash card and what adapter do you use??

Greetings. Got my 1GB CompactFlash card and adapter. After a false
start, I remembered not to copy the system folder from the current
startup disk, so I booted from the OS 8.5 CD in the external drive,
and then copied

branded). Someone mentioned taking the System file out of the System Folder on
the hard drive. Is this the recommended procedure?

I have a similiar(spinning HDD when I don't want it to) problem when
doing the same thing with all of the powerbooks I have owned (three
5300's, a 3400 and currently a Kanga). The workaround I have found for
the spinning hard drive is to use the control strip to spin down the
hard drive,
Everything appears to working with the CF card as the boot drive
EXCEPT for the fact that whenever I open folders with the triangle
opener, launch applications or click on links in my web browser the
hard drive spins-up! I suspect this is NOT supposed to be happening
