Dear Powerbook mailing list readers:

I accidentally "broke" something inside my PB 3400c. This happened while I tried to "fix" a broken "clicker" (you know the device near the trackpad) after opening up my 3400c. I am a complete amateur so I am sorry if I offend anyone.

I want an outside professional to perform a "general physical" on my 3400c to find out exactly what is wrong with it and to fix it. What test(s) should be performed on it and how do I get the necessary parts to replace the broken ones (I know for a fact that my keyboard is no longer fully working)?? I live in North NJ and would anybody from the "Tri-State area" (NJ, NY, CT) know of a reasonably-priced professional who can do this?? (please give contact information - Thanks in advance). Also who would be a good source for reasonably priced parts (please give contact information)??

I recently checked on eBay and prices for used and working 3400cs (plural - no such model as a 3400cs) are around $100-$150. I would rather fix my broken 3400c and not have to purchase another one - but I am not "stupid" either and do not want to pay more for repairs than what it costs for a used one on eBay. In short I really like my 3400c and do not want it to collect dust anymore.

Please help!

Eric (in Northern NJ)
