pb3400c with skyline 802.11b wireless pccard

Hi Listers, I've just acquired the skyline wireless pc card. The card with asante driver can see my network but when I input the required network password, it gives back garbage signals like [EMAIL PROTECTED] , rectangular boxex etc...Do I need to enter pwd in other forms like Hex..? (if yes,

The manual (on the disk) talks about having to input in hex and gives a hexadecimal conversion chart. I don't have the manual with me (disk or the printout I made) but I think the hex was only necessary for a couple of situations. (the 3 WiFi networks I've connected to so far have all been open
