I recently inquired of the List about an "Energy Saver" problem I was having with my 5300. The machine didn't like going to sleep *and* at the same time maintain a static DSL connection.
Remy gave me some advise about possible Speed Doubler incompatibilities, but ultimately I serendipitously stumbled onto St. Claires *Sleeper* shareware. http://www.stclairsw.com/Sleeper/index.html I found this comment of St.Claire's interesting: *It also works in many circumstances where Energy Saver fails for mysterious reasons,* I took this to mean that the Energy Saver is not very elegant code. My experience with Sleeper, so far, has been satisfying on both my 5300 and 3400 [All the appropriate disclaimers apply.} HTH, Cliff [EMAIL PROTECTED] (JkR) writes: >From: JkR <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Date: Wed, 17 Apr 2002 20:52:29 -0400 >Hi all hope some 1 out there in cyberland can help me when i put my >book to sleep sometimes it doesnt want to wake up the screen will light >up but nothing else everything on it is upgraded except the H.D. its the >original 750 mb im gonna upgrade it next to 30 GB but i need some help >with the sleep problem first............ -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
