*Responsibilities:*
Install and configure Cognos 8.4 BI components (i.e., Web, application,
database, etc.) within an IBM Websphere environment. This individual will
analyze the clients construction-site business requirements, and designs,
develops, installs, and maintains Cognos-based project-reporting
applications that include such features as:
· ETL using data manager
· Score-carding and dashboards
· Flexible reporting with detailed analysis and drill-down on
various construction-project metrics
· Portal components integrated with various data sources, such as:
· SAP
· Primavera P6 Scheduling
· Primavera Cost Manager
· Primavera Expedition/Contract Manager
· Port Authority INCAPS Application
· Scheduled reports
· Ad hoc report query capabilities
· Requirements gathering and requirements documentation for a system
implementation.
· Perform trending on historical data
· Run analytics on the data
· Generate alerts based on thresholds
· Understanding of system integration and the system interaction
within the business.
· Production support, including resolving end user Service Requests,
troubleshooting and providing solutions to end user issues.
*Require Skills:*
*Experience/Qualifications:*
· Undergraduate Degree in computer science or industrial
engineering or equivalent require
· Must have 5+ years experience independently developing Cognos
applications and Cognos
reports from the ground up.
· Must have experience developing Cognos PowerPlay cubes, technical
requirements and design
· documents for business applications
· Must have ETL experience in data manager or similar tools to
push data from EP to BI.
· Must have 5 years of data modeling/data warehousing experience.
· Must have 3+ years experience supporting Cognos business
applications with direct customer
contact.
· Must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and
assignments of moderate to high complexity, working tenaciously to meet or
beat deadlines.
· Must have knowledge of quality assurance and testing procedures,
processes and techniques employed across various technical platforms and
environments.
· Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
