I think it has.
When sleepmode is inactive my PM works fine while I'm out of office,
otherwise I've the same problems.

I have just come from a business trip, and PM running on my home machine
has been stuck for several days trying to download a message. Why doesn't
it time out (say after a day) if a connection is unsuccessful?

Received messages have started opening in a small window at the bottom of
my screen (I use the 2 pane view). I have to drag each message higher up
the screen then enlarge the window to read it conveniently.
How do I set the default to get message windows to open the way I want?
