I disagree with that blanket statement. I find PM very stable, but I had

No. I very seldom move anything to my 31 Folders because I use incoming
and outgoing filters. Everything sorts itself. Much easier and a lot more
comfortable than a context menu!

My experience is the opposite. If you use Apple Mail, be careful to
archive your mail regularly to prevent your mailbox from growing too
large. Otherwise you will lose mail
Yes, And I use it all the time,. I would be grateful if this menu were
available also to quickly file OUTgoing messages. I have to close drag
those to the correct folders. Seems reasonable to me to make the filing
of outgoing messages just as easy as filing incoming messages.

I might add:
I'd love to have a context menu for 'move message to' a folder.
In two-pane view there is a popup menu below the tool bar for the message
to File in: with a list of all folders.
While not a contextual menu, it is fairly handy and quick to use.
