the message is not downloaded at all, if I understand Rick right.
I guess PM starts hanging, when downloading the header. Next time, one
connects the message is downloaded as expected.

unpredictable when it happens. When it happens, I click on X, then PM
shows the blank mail with partially downloaded icon so I click on it to
force download.

Occasionally, when downloading my messages, PM hangs part way. After
waiting, I stop the download and immediately reconnect. PM then downloads
the rest of my messages.
