You should not need to write a script to do this. Why not simply modify the "Spam: actions" filter (under Setup/Mail Filters...) to move spam to the Mail Trash folder. (This assumes you also have SpamSieve installed.) I have done this, and have also set the Trash to be deleted automatically after
