Iran, Turkey review expansion of agricultural cooperation

Second strategic conference on expansion of cooperation in the fields of
agriculture and animal husbandry between Iran and Turkey at ministerial level
was held in Ankara on Tuesday.

At the meeting, the two sides reviewed promotion of mutual cooperation and ways
of removing existing barriers.

Iran's Minister of Agriculture Jihad Mohammad Reza Eskandari headed Iranian
delegation to the meeting while the Turkish delegation was led by Turkish
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Mehmet Medi Eker.

A preliminary meeting at expert level kicked off two days ago in Ankara.

It is expected that various memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on mutual
cooperation would be signed in the meeting.

Iran and Turkey have enjoyed very close and cordial ties in various economic
areas but there is suitable opportunity to increase the volume of trade
exchange in agricultural sector, Eskandari said.

The Iranian minister heading a delegation arrived in Ankara on Tuesday morning
to review expansion of agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
