I found a piece of software that's doing what I need. It's called
Audacity and it's free (as in freedom, not free as in free beer).
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
All I needed software for was to chop up one long 2 hour recording
session into individual songs and then edit 3 tracks of mono wav

I don't care. I only need it for editing some .WAV files.
Digidesign was allowing folks to download it for free (it's limited to 8
tracks of audio -- which is fine with me) and now they've taken it away.
