For those of you that to SQL Server DBA stuff, what sort of performance
monitoring tools do you use?

Since I'm new at this I'm just using the built in PerfMon tools, saving
off timed monitored queries to a spreadsheet, and tweaking the xls for
averages, max, min etc.  I'm still on SQL Server 2K so my options aren't
the same as with the more modern versions.

Of the plethora of Objects, Methods, etc etc etc, what variables are you
following to gauge performace and health on your servers? My online
reasearch ends up with a lot of differing opinions on what is
important...
