Not a problem, just hoping for some enlightenment. As Raul found, init_jaf_ worked with both ‘cpu’ and ‘opencl’ but not ‘cuda’. The last didn’t surprise me, as I hadn’t downloaded cuda.
However, while ... freeall ‘’ after init ‘cpu’ (dropping the _jaf_) reported, verbosely, ... [0] AMD: AMD Ryzen 7 3700U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx , I found, in a newly loaded J session, that freeall ‘’ after init ‘opencl’ reported instead ... [0] AMD: gfx902, 7184 MB (beware iPad typos, as I’m copy-typing) So init ‘opencl’ is evidently seeing the graphics processor. As far as I know, I haven’t downloaded opencl; so is it bundled in with ArrayFire, which I had downloaded, or does it come gratis with Windows? Clearly, I’m writing blessed with near ignorance on s/w for graphics cards. I suppose I’m hoping that, in due course, the ArrayFire addon will include some guidance on what is necessary and/or advisable to install. Eg, if we already have opencl, is it preferable to install cuda?
