Thanks, Bill.
I've made careful notes for when I have to do it again. (Which won't be for
a while.)

You have to run the build or save script of the package so as to
build and copy files from Public to Addons folder of your
computer, and then commit new changes of Addons as well. I have
done this for you. Please try it yourself next time.

@Bill
ok I think I've fixed it. I needed to update labdir.ijs too, and also point
the lablist.ijs entry in the right place.

Right, Bill, I've done that. And examining my checked-out repository (which
I call: jpublic to be able to recognise it in my home folder) I think I
understand its structure, and can see what to update.

For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.co
The Public repo can be checked out using
$ svn co http://www.jsoftware.com/svn/public/trunk public
Typically you need to set user folders ~Addons and ~Public in
order to build scripts there.

Okay, it wasn't quite as simple as I first thought.
I'll make some time to fully understand what Bill is saying.

If it is in the right folder it will.

The lablist.txt was first introduced for jgtk. I guess it can
simplify the logic of discovering labs.
BTW for labs, it also needs to update the Public repository
which is the real source. Otherwise your changes to Addons will be
overwritten.

Thanks Bill, I went ahead and did it, just after sending my email.
(Revisions 4626 and 4627)
Really quite easy (...and I've made myself a new checklist).
Never really understood the need for lablist.txt. j602 doesn't need it. Is
it there just to control migration of labs from j602 to j801? (What
I guess that would be trivial, just use the "svn commit" command
if you are using the command line interface.

(Both EVM and tte are indeed defined as adverbs.)

Ian,
EVM is particularly clever because you have defined it as an adverb.

Thanks, Joe.
I take my hat off to you, if you, a beginner, can run a lab in JQt from a
downloaded .ijt file.

I'm being lazy, Bill :)
I work strictly from checklists when using svn. I don't have one for
updating lablist.txt (yet). I guess it's just a question of hunting for it.

Ian, thank you for uploading and creating a lab. I've downloaded it from
svn and used it in jqt 8. I was uncertain how to get started from the wiki
page that referenced it. The lab, test file, and tte.ijs makes it immensely
more clear to me. I've only used it a bit and found it to be very helpful

It's okay Bill, I've located the one verb I've used in misc.ijs and copied
it into tte.ijs.
It works fine now in JQt.
But to run: tte.ijs -needs this line inserting in lablist.txt:

Further to this, I've uploaded a new addon: 'debug/tte'

It would be nice, as a service to newcomers, for this to be complete, or at
least kept broadly up-to-date:
http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/Guides/Tacit_to_explicit_roadmap
so people don't have to stumble around in this rather important area.
PM me with what's missing and I'll do it. Or add it yours
arning and the corresponding folder for
addons/docs/help/learning.
Apologies and thanks.

I'm learning the evaluation rules for tacit expressions, since that is
what's commonly posted as solutions. Is there a utility to generate an
explicit definition from a tacit definition?
For example, to generate a tacit expression from explicit
