Java Developer
6+ month contract
Read and understand business requirements, functional requirements, develop
detailed technical designs and produce high quality production level code.
Design technical solutions to solve complex business problems. Ability to drill
deep into subject matter with the expectation to evolve as subject matter
expert
on current systems. Performs research and analysis - recommending solutions
and driving decisions. Serves as a "point person" for specific technical
expertise.
This candidate should be a strong utility type of programmer with the ability
to switch context quickly and efficiently between different technologies and
tasks. The candidate should be able to interact effectively with project
managers,
developers, technical operations, etc.
The ideal candidate will possess:
*Exceptional system / technical analysis skills
*Minimum of six years OO analysis and design experience.
*Minimum five years development experience with Java.
*Minimum three years working in both Unix/Linux and Wintel environments.
*Current experience working with app servers - preferably WebLogic
*Experience in various Java server related technologies, such as EJB and Spring.
*Very strong problem solving skills, ability to infer from previous examples,
willingness
to understand how an application is put together.
*Excellent communication skills
*Proven design experience in large-scale, enterprise-style financial services
applications.
*Ability to lead a team of developers in a large scale project following an
Agile methodology.
Required Skills
*Full development lifecycle experience as a technical lead. Must demonstrate
experience delivering systems / projects from inception through implementation.
*5-7 years technical leadership experience w/ distributed systems, preferably
3 years w/ EJB.
*Java - 5 years
*J2EE / EJB - preferably WebLogic
*High level of proficiency in Analysis, Design, Build, and Deployment of EJBs
(strong server side experience)
*Able to perform code reviews of each team member and educate them on best
practices.
*Experience w/OOAD and an understanding of patterns
*Experience with continuous integration build tools i.e. Jenkins
*Experience creating and maintaining ant build scripts
*Experience coding in Groovy or similar language
Desired Skills
*3+ years Oracle database programming experience, including performance tuning.
*Solid understanding of MQ; JNI; JMS/MQ; Oracle/JDBC/JPA/Hibernate a strong
plus
*Exposure to Spring MVC (?)
*Experience in Linux/UNIX/Solaris/AIX; Shell programming / PERL a plus
*Experience with AJAX
*Experience with JQuery, DOJO, CSS
*Strong javascript development experience
