Role : Project/Product Manager
Location: NYC, NY 10013
Duration: Above 7 Months

 

SCOPE OF SERVICES :

·         Create and manage a detailed roadmap of the evolution of the system, 
balancing between the needs of the user, technology capabilities and the risk 
associated with the changes.

·         Develop a comprehensive understanding of the businesses and systems 
environment through research and analysis; facilitate business problem 
definition 
as well as key metrics to verify resolution.

·         Oversee/Manage the efforts to document functional and system 
requirements 
through interviews, design workshops, or other techniques as the situation 
may require.

·         Validate & ensure creation of use cases to better clarify and 
communicate 
requirements.

·         Drive requirements review and sign off with business and technical 
subject matter experts and management.

·         Promote analysis and documentation standards to improve efficiency 
and quality.

·         Manage ongoing requirements review and iteration.

·         Identify risks and issues.

·         Prioritize issues/bugs resolution;

·         Be final sign-off on release go-ahead.

·         Identify impact on business processes, and establish processes to 
ensure smooth operations.

·         Oversee/Manage various testing phases to ensure system functionality 
and drive issues resolution; ensure completeness of test requirements, adequacy 
of test cases for each testing phase.

·         Oversee the assessment of education needs and the creation of a plan 
to enhance system use

·         Assess the impact of software release and manage remediation - Plan 
it, staff it, execute it.

·         Be the eyes & ears of the team with the user community.

·         Track Team deliverables; keep a high standard of quality while 
keeping 
to project schedule.

·         Provide team with direction, resolve issues, and mitigate risks.

·         Work with the vendor to ensure proper and timely delivery of 
PeopleSoft 
software.

·         Work with internal teams in DSNY and DoITT to make sure the project 
follows the standard city process.

·         Project communications including status, risks, issues, escalation, 
etc.

 

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

·         8+ years of Business Analysis experience ' 4-year degree in Business, 
MIS, or 10+ years of related job experience

·         Hands-On experience working as part of a team on large programs 
(spanning 
multiple years, with budgets over 50 million USD)

·         Operations background with experience evolving and developing 
significant 
technology platforms.

·         Experience with business process and system modeling tools (i.e., 
Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Dimensional 
Data Models, and Use Case Scenarios)

·         Experience analyzing business processes and evolving operations using 
process improvement preferably using standardized methodologies.

·         Good insight into systems development lifecycle (SDLC) including: 
requirements, design, development, test, implementation, and rollout

·         Working knowledge of multiple SDLC methodologies including waterfall, 
iterative and agile

·         Working knowledge of IV&V methodology

·         Ability to collaborate with diverse organizations and individuals 
to accomplish common goals

·         Ability to conceptualize, document and communicate business and 
technical 
constraints and requirements

·         Proven ability to deliver clear, accurate and timely Business 
Requirements 
and Functional Specifications

·         Previous software development, testing, systems integration and/or 
software configuration experience is beneficial

·         Proficient with MS Office Tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, 
Project, PowerPoint, Visio)

·         Ability to perform data analysis in Excel using pivot tables, macros 
and charting

·         Demonstrated ability to organize workload, multitask, think 
analytically, 
solve technical problems, and establish relationships across business and IT 
team members


• Strong written and verbal communication skills across business and technical 
audiences ' Must be a self-starter showing a high level of initiative.

·         Self-motivated,  team player, action and results oriented    

·         Well organized, good communication and reporting skills    

·         Ability to successfully work under tight project deadlines
